TCA CRIME FIGHT IS JOINING THE MILLION MAN MARCH
Spearheaded by Desmond Dube
Currently scheduled on
Tuesday 10th June 2008
Details TO BE ANNOUNCED
www.millionmanmarch.co.za
The Million Man March is an anti-crime initiative formed as a direct response to the unacceptable levels of crime in South Africa.
The March aims to:
Unite all South Africans against crime, crime can only be defeated if confronted with a collective will, a combined commitment and a united plan of action.
The March endeavours to empower people who feel helpless, vulnerable and alone by giving them a specific time and place to join together with others, and provide them with a voice against that which they fear the most.
The March will call on the Government of the Republic of South Africa to act decisively on the crisis of crime in South Africa. Urgent attention needs to be given to combating crime, more resources need to be allocated to our police, with efficient mechanisms put in place to combat corruption.
Law abiding citizens have the constitutional right to have an efficient justice system to support them.
We want to call on the people of South Africa to recognise that we are part of the solution. We call on each and every individual to take responsibility of his or her actions.
We aim to challenge the perceptions that our society have about crime and use this opportunity to engage government, business, religious groups and individuals that this is the platform to launch and extensive and aggressive MORAL REGENERATION PROGRAMME.
Remind one another that there is a lot to celebrate about our country and need to make sure that the negativity of crime does not take away from all the good that has been accomplished.
The integrity of the march is dependent on the peacefulness of its nature. It is scheduled and planned to take place within the boundaries of the law.
This march is for all citizens of South Africa who feel passionate about making a positive contribution towards the country, it will not be used as a platform to advance political or financial gain.

CHINESE COMMUNITY FIGHT AGAINST CRIME (issued by the TCA)
Date: Sun 16 March 2008
Time: 15h00 (followed by Tea & Snacks)
Place: Sacred Heart College, 11 Eckstein Street, Observatory
The level of crime in SA continues to be a major concern.
Just recently two more families have been attacked in Bedfordview.
This follows a spate of violent attacks on Chinese who are regarded as “soft” targets.
Many have expressed resentment, frustration and outrage because of the helplessness of the situation we find ourselves in.
In the light of this the TCA has been in discussion with various Security and Tactical units regarding the safeguarding and protection of the Chinese Community.
Of all these we feel that ARM (Analytical Risk Management) has the most professional and holistic approach in coming up with measures to combat and prevent crime.
They are former members of the crack Organized Crime Unit who were instrumental in tracking down, arresting and ensuring that criminals involved in cash in transit heists and other high level crimes were convicted.
Now in their new role as an independent crime prevention and tactical unit they use their extensive network of connections within the SAP and justice system to identify, profile and ultimately eliminate undesirable elements from society.
When we arrived at their offices they were busy springing a trap for someone who was selling goods from the back of his employer’s storeroom.
Everything was filmed from a hidden surveillance camera and the suspect was later arrested.
ARM involve themselves as a complete range of activities from apprehending criminals to ensuring that the case is properly followed through until conviction stage.
How they achieve this is through their extensive network which permeates through from “on- the- ground” informer through to monitoring important case dockets in order that they do not go missing and ensuring that judges who are not soft on crime and are not scared to mete out appropriate punishments are assigned certain cases pertaining to certain communities.
What they have to tell us needs to be heard on a first hand basis.
- What measures can we take to cut down on risk?
- What do we need to look out for within our environment?
- Does your maid/garden boy have a criminal record?
- How the Chinese Community can take a proactive steps to safe guard its members?
All these questions and a lot more will be answered during the Sunday afternoon of 16th March 2008 at Sacred Heart College.
We need you to come out and listen to what they have to say and to sanction the engaging of their services if everyone agrees.
