SAA Now Flies to Beijing!!! January 2012!

Introducing Direct Services to Beijing, China


For the first time in the history of the airline, SAA will introduce direct flights to Beijing, China; from January this year.


The inaugural flight is scheduled to depart on Tuesday 31 January 2012 from Johannesburg to arrive in Beijing, China; on Wednesday 1 February 2012. These flights are available from today for reservations in the global distribution system (GDS) and via SAA’s website flysaa.com, the airline’s on-line website.

Celebrating Nelson Mandelas 93rd Birthday! What we as the Chinese community can do!

During this upcoming Monday, the 18th of July, Nelson Mandela will be celebrating his 93rd birthday! People from all across South Africa in keeping with his legacy will be donating 67 minutes of their time to do some good!


We know that it is not always possible to give your time but we as the Chinese community believe that we can still do some good!


To this end we are encouraging members of the Chinese community to please pledge some money to a good cause. The cause we have chosen is our very own Chinese Old Aged home – Hong Ning.

Vice President of China visiting South Africa

Vice President Xi Jinping is visiting is visiting South Africa the week of the 16th of November 2010. He arrives after making a visit to Singapore and will visit Botswana and Angola after South Africa.

 

His visit to South Africa further cements China South African ties and is a followup after China and South Africa signed the Comprehensive Strategic partnership in August this year.

 

South Africa has the largest number of Chinese living in Africa, estimated at over 300,000.

Chinese New Year Updates

These past few weeks have been most hectic!

We had so many Chinese new years celebrations!

1) Street Party and spectacular fireworks display in Commissioner street

2) Ana amzing street party in Cyrildene!

3) Religious celebrations at the Nan hua temple!

4) Festivites at the brightwater commons!

5) Chinese New Years Ball at Emperors!

6) Performance by visiting dance and art performance troupe of China!

 

All in all, it is estimated that over 40,000 people celebrated in these celebrations over the last few weeks!

Vice President of China meets with South Africa Chinese community leaders

19th November 2010 - Yesterday afternoon Vice President Xi JinPing met with local South African Chinese community leaders. He expressed his thanks in them supporting China all these years and encouraged them to continue to be the link and voice of China in South Africa.

 

Vice President Xi departs South Africa and travels to Botswana and Angola before returning back to China.

Vice President of China Xi Jinping in Cape Town

18th of November - Vice President Xi JinPing signed a number of energy and trade deals during his state visit to South Africa yesterday. This visit is a followup from President Zuma's trip to China in August this year. During that visit they established the comphrehensive strategic cooperation agreement and outlined a plan for the two countries to further enhance their relationship.

 

Vice President Xi is expected to be in Pretoria later today to give his key note speech as well as to meet with the Chinese community leaders of South Africa at the Chinese Embassy.
